1995-2001 Denmark's ambassador to China. Sideaccredited in Mongolia og Democratic People's Republic of Korea, (North Korea).

1994-95 Opened the Danish Consulate General in Shanghai as consul general.

Orders and medals: Commander First Class of the Danish Order of the Dannebrog. Grand cross of the Spanish Order of Queen Isabella the Catholic. Commander First Class of the Greek Phoenix Order, of the Swedish North Star Order and the Brazilian South Star Order. Has also received the Bulgarian Stara Platina Order, the Russian Order of Friendship, the British Order ”Member of the British Empire” and the UNEF medal of the United Nations.
